Two people, aged 27 and 19, were arrested on Wednesday night for the theft of a bicycle worth €10,000, which was stolen on December 10 from the parking lot of an apartment building in Strovolos.

According to the police, the owner of the stolen bicycle went to the Strovolos police station at around 8.30pm on Wednesday and told officers he saw an ad online selling his bicycle.

At the instruction of the police, the owner then arranged to meet the sellers. An officer and a friend of his accompanied him to the meeting.

At the meeting, the two people did not give satisfactory explanations for their possession of the bicycle and were arrested for illegal possession of property.

The bicycle was eventually identified by the owner as his own. When interrogated, the two people admitted to the theft.
