In collaboration with Junior Achievement Cyprus, Lidl Cyprus ran the free environmental and educational Mind Reset programme for public and private schools across Cyprus, a second year running.

A fun, interactive and eco-focused scheme, the second Mind REset competition once again spurred elementary and secondary school students to identify the impact of our daily plastic use, and to propose practical and sustainable solutions for the protection and preservation of the environment.

Sixty schools, Cyprus-wide, took part in the programme, with 2,524 students from 134 classes participating, supported by over 139 teachers. The scheme’s finals and award ceremony took place on December 16 at POED’s Nicosia event hall.

The Mind REset finals were the culmination of five classes offered to fifth- and sixth-graders and first- and second-year high-school students, giving them a taste of eco-entrepreneurship, while helping them develop useful skills for the protection and preservation of the environment.

All participating teams’ ideas evaluated in the competition were in line with one of Lidl Cyprus’ five fields of action, and the Schwarz Group’s international REset Plastic strategy.

For the final selection of winning teams, the jury evaluated the quality of each team’s business proposal, the calibre of their exhibits, how successfully they delivered their pitch, and the standard of their responses when quizzed about their idea.
