Moped muggers forcibly remove ring from victim’s finger

Two men on a moped grabbed a woman’s bag as she walked along a street in Limassol in the early hours of Friday, police said.

During the robbery, one of the two jumped off the moped and forcibly removed a ring from her finger. The incident happened just after midnight.

The woman was walking along when the moped pulled in close and the passenger reached out and took hold of the woman’s bag. Then the driver got off and grabbed her hand, forcefully removing a ring. They both then fled.

Police said the woman went to Limassol General Hospital where she was treated for injuries to the finger from which the ring had been removed.

Limassol police are investigating.
