There is nothing like a good book, even in the age of fast paced websites and kindle, and there are still plenty of fans of an actual page turner, so an event on Saturday organised by the new writers’ hub in Nicosia WRITE CY is sure to attract anyone and everyone who loves books.
The event, under the name Cyprus Writers Day, will host local independent book publishers and authors, who will be mingling over a beer from 11am until 4pm, and giving us all the inside information about Cyprus’ growing community of authors.
This is a chance to welcome the month dedicated to Christmas in style, as you can get a taste of the island’s fast-growing indie publishing scene with appearances by Armida Books, Books Ex Machina and Bookworm Publications. Local authors who have been published elsewhere will also be joining in the day’s celebrations.
And if you want to gift someone a signed book this Christmas an array of books will be on sale, and – as you have guessed – some of the authors will have their pens handy for signing.
