Black Friday craze hits Cyprus

Cypriot consumers rushed to the shops on Friday to take advantage of bargains offered by various retailers as the island marked the Black Friday custom.

At the Mall of Cyprus, in Nicosia, hundreds of shoppers lined up outside Public eager to find bargains on electronics.

Consumers rushed in as soon as the doors opened at 8am, crowding every corner of the shop

Black Friday is the name given to the day following Thanksgiving in the USA, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country’s Christmas shopping season since 1952 and the day shopkeepers balance sheets turned black (positive) from red (loss).
