Archbishop called out for ‘callous’ cancer remark

Archbishop Chrysostomos

Archbishop Chrysostomos sparked public ire this week after a comment he made about his battle with cancer.

Commenting on his condition, the Church primate said with the help of God, his cancer was gone.

“God bless, I’m clean. Cancer did not match my character,” he said.

Netizens took to social media to protest what they saw as a callous statement, which suggested that the thousands of other cancer sufferers had it coming because of their character traits.
