Two buildings in Paralimni evacuated after fire at adjacent construction site

Two buildings were evacuated on Thursday in Paralimni for safety reasons after a fire that broke out in a shipping container at a nearby construction site caused windows to shatter.

The fire broke out around 1pm in the container which was filled with polystyrene, and damaged an adjacent apartment building and another two-storey building.

Three fire engines went to the scene and extinguished the fire less than an hour later.

No injuries were reported.
