Lazaris Mill Retirement Village. Independent living

Maybe you’re starting to think your home no longer suits your lifestyle and needs. Maintaining the home and garden might be a bit of a struggle, or your health might be declining, and you’d like to live in a more supportive environment.

A retirement village could be just what you’re looking for at this point in your life.

Because retirement villages are purpose-built for older people they offer many lifestyle and practical benefits. Residents enjoy a strong sense of community, feel safe and secure and can enjoy more quality time with family and friends.

Retirement villages offer many opportunities for residents to interact and connect, without living in each other’s pockets, through on-site recreational facilities, community rooms and social activities.

This can help reduce social isolation, which, sadly, is a growing problem worldwide and a leading cause of hospitalisation in older people.

Retirement villages also offer low maintenance living, easing pressure on seniors who no longer feel they can keep up with home and garden chores. Because retirement villages are purpose-built, the homes are designed to be easily maintained and the common areas are looked after by the operator. When it’s time to go on holidays, it’s easy to lock up, relax and enjoy your vacation.

Lazaris Mill Retirement Village is a first of its kind for the Island. Located in the peaceful setting of Tsada village, within easy reach of Paphos city, the new €16-million development will provide a selection of 82 luxuriously appointed studios, one, two- and three-bedroom apartments for the over 60s. The properties are set within secure landscaped grounds and centred around a 24 luxury suite hotel/club house, with a medical centre on site, featuring a restaurant, bar, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness and health suite, library, and more.

The first residents are expected to move in in spring 2023 and properties are available to buy off-plan, with prices starting from €110,000.

Lazaros Papadopoulos, the founder and chairman of Lazaris Mill was born in Tsada Village and he has a rich history in the area which includes the Old Flour Mill where his grandfather lived and worked. This beautiful old and preserved building will now be incorporated into the project and will be connected to the hotel/clubhouse. The village is 600 metres above sea-level and offers the perfect climate to live in, especially during the hot summer months.

The Hotel and Clubhouse

The centrepiece of the development will be developed adjacent to the existing preserved building on site. Set in an elevated area of the village before the ground gently slopes away to the countryside, the delightful restaurant and inviting bar will boast views towards the Troodos mountains in the distance.

As well as dining and enjoying a drink, residents may choose to relax with a good book in the lounge and cafe, enjoy a swim in one of the swimming pools or organise their own clubs and events in the spacious meeting room.

For residents looking to stay active, the club house will also be home to a fabulous fitness suite, with sun terrace and a private gym with the latest fitness equipment. There will even be guest suites for visiting family and friends.

The properties

All properties will be constructed and finished to the very highest of standards, using premium quality materials and expert trades and craftspeople. Kitchens and bathrooms will be fitted with elegant, high quality fixtures, and those who choose to buy off-plan will have the chance to work with an experienced architect to personalise their new home.

Rooms are spacious and layouts are designed with residents’ lifestyles in mind. Each home will be highly energy efficient, providing underfloor heating, excellent insulation and double glazing. This not only reduces environmental impact but also minimises energy costs.
