Man arrested for driving under influence of drugs

A 34-year-old Paphos resident was charged in writing and released pending results of drug sampling, police said on Tuesday.

According to the statement, in the early hours of Monday while driving, the man failed to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, collided with the vehicle and injured a passenger.

During the check in his car, police found an expired car insurance and an expired student driving licence.

The man tested positive in a preliminary drug test and was then charged in writing and released pending the results of samples sent to the general state laboratory.
