makers fair

The Youth Makerspace Larnaka celebrates five years and to mark the occasion it organises the Makers Fair on May 20. From 4pm to 10pm, the venue of the Youth Makerspace in Larnaca will host a technology and creation festival based on the Makers’ Movement, inviting the general public and makers of all kinds.

The event will include interactive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) workshops on robotics and programming, as well as wood construction. At the same time, there will be technology booths staffed by creators, organisations and institutions with the aim of presenting their projects and constructions. In addition, there will be activities and crafts, a demonstration of useful skills, a clay workshop and cultivation of the venue’s Smart Garden.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in inspiring talks from professionals on technology and making, such as 3D printing and virtual reality. The public will also be able to enjoy street food, drinks, sweets and music. The Makers Fair aspires to become a new institution that will offer the local community the opportunity to foster meaningful dialogue between participants and visitors and become a magnet for ideas.
