Boats burning at Nicosia lot (updated)

A fire in a storage area in Ayios Dhometios was extinguished a few hours after it broke out, the fire service said on Tuesday.

The fire broke out at 1:22pm on Tuesday and was burning fibreglass vessels in the abandoned storage area.

According to the fire service, the blaze was reported by an individual that works in the area, and from initial investigations it seems to have been an arson.

More investigations will be carried out to determine the exact cause of the blaze.

Four fire trucks were used to extinguish the fire, while the surrounding area was also sprayed with water to prevent from spreading other areas.
