Two upcoming live music performances in Paphos will bring well-known music from the movies to life, pay tribute to Greek composers and present funky, soul and jazz pieces. All that will take place at Technopolis 20 as the venue welcomes local musicians to its floor.

Coming up first is the Sung Mellow band, a jazz trio that will perform on Thursday at 8pm. Lefteris Moumtzis on vocals, Ermis Michail on guitar and Andreas Panteli on piano play mainly jazz ballads, blues and folk music, basing their performances on simplicity and mellowness. Their live set this week will present classic jazz vocal numbers as well as re-workings of folk and blues songs, done in their own unique way.

Next week, on Thursday March 21, Kyriaki Steliou will present an evening dedicated to well-known soundtracks from movies of the 20th century. The solo voice and piano performance will include songs such as The Lady is a Tramp, Over the Rainbow, Manhã de Carnaval and songs by Edith Piaf. The second part of the programme will pay tribute to acclaimed Greek composer of the 20th century Manos Hadjidakis. Steliou will present a selection of soundtracks from various popular movies such as Ta Pedia tou Pirea, T’ Asteri tou Voria, To Feggari Einai Kokkino, Hartino to Feggaraki and other well-known and beloved songs.
