Coronavirus: Ministry finds ‘great compliance’ with rapid test requirement

Only four employees of 4743 working at 1277 business that were inspected in the week of February 8 to 12 were found not to have taken a rapid antigen coronavirus test, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

It said officials had inspected 200 barbershops / hairdressers with 380 employees, 81 beauty salons with 129 employees, 284 supermarkets / grocery stores and their 1,815 employees, 185 kiosks with 490 employees and 427 food companies with 1,929 employees.

Only four employees had not complied with the obligation to have undergone a rapid coronavirus test and were fined.

The health services said they were happy with the result.

“Based on the findings of the health officers, there is great compliance on the part of employees and employers, which is seen as very positive in the effort to prevent the spread of the virus in the community, but also in the workplace.”

The health services will continue to carry out checks and intensify them in an effort to achieve maximum compliance and safety in workplaces, the announcement concluded.
