New doc reveals Audrey Hepburn beyond the glamour

“The best-kept secret about Audrey, was that she wanted to be loved…”

In this France 24 culture round-up, British filmmaker Helena Coan speaks to movie critic Lisa Nesselson and culture editor Eve Jackson about her documentary ‘Audrey’. The film pays tribute to late actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn, revealing unguarded moments from the elegant star’s life.

The documentary draws on film excerpts, touching interviews with her family members and audio clips of Hepburn herself.

The round-up also discusses Hollywood A-lister Tom Hanks’ first foray into the Western genre, as seen in the newly-released ‘News of the World’. The 2020 film is co-written and directed by Paul Greengrass, starring Hanks and newcomer Helena Zengel.

The round-up ends with a look at the newly-remastered 1986 comedy, ‘Peggy Sue got Married’, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and starring Kathleen Turner and Nicholas Cage.
