How sustainability is shaping the future of coffee farming

It takes a coffee tree an entire year to produce one pound (453g) of coffee beans, even as it fends off diseases like coffee leaf rust, which can decimate its numbers. At the same time, there are more coffee drinkers in the world than ever before… and demand is growing.

Taken together, it’s clear that when it comes to coffee, sustainability remains a crucial issue to address.

In this video, Lucy Biggers of ‘One Small Step’ sits down with Starbucks’ VP of Sustainability and Education, Kelly Goodejohn, to talk about the future of one of the world’s most favourite caffeinated beverages.
