Coronavirus: Vaccinations for 16-17 year olds not registered with Gesy

covid vaccination

The health ministry on Thursday announced it will be giving minors aged 16 to 17 who are not registered with Gesy the chance to book a vaccination appointment.

The decision to vaccinate this age group was taken in a bid to ensure the protection of public health and “after taking into account the recommendations of the Cyprus paediatric society”, the ministry said.

Non-Gesy residents will be able to book a vaccination appointment by submitting the relevant application form found on PIO’s website, along with a copy of their Identity Card or other identification document, and their alien registration card (if they are foreign).

Documents can either:

  • be sent via the email [email protected], OR
  • by post to 1 Prodromou & 17 Chilonos Street, 1449, Nicosia, Cyprus, OR
  • hand-delivered in hard copy to the Ministry of Health at the same address.

Teenagers must have with them a signed form by their parents or guardians on the day of their appointment. The form should be signed by both parents or guardians unless there is a court decision suggesting this is unnecessary.

Other documents required include ID as well as a copy of the identification documents of their guardians.

The vaccination portal opened up for Gesy-registered 16 and 17 year olds on Wednesday.
