A 72-year-old man was killed in Limassol on Wednesday morning after his car crashed into a flatbed truck, police said.

The driver of the flatbed was also injured but his condition was not life threatening.

Police named the man as Pavlos Dionisiou from Limassol. He was pronounced dead on arrival shortly after he was rushed to hospital following the 11am collision.

Police said Dionisiou was coming out of a side road into a main thoroughfare when he got into the flatbed’s path.
