Elderly man fined over 11,000 euros for poaching

An elderly man in Paphos was fined 11,126 euros on Sunday for hunting during the closed season, and for poaching.

According to police, the man was seen leaving his house in the morning with ah airgun.

Some passers-by took the airgun for a firearm and called police.

He was subsequently arrested and taken to a police station where the fine was issued.
