Coronavirus: More than 50% of adults vaccinated in north

Close to 56 per cent of the adult population in the north have received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine, with 53.1 per cent having both shots, it was announced on Monday.

According to a written statement, 212,117 people, or 55.53 per cent, have received one jab while 202,846 people got both doses.

Health authorities said mobile vaccination units have been increased to facilitate access to vaccines.

Turkish Cypriots have mandated the so-called Adapass app from September 27. Adapass will be mandatory for residents in the north and people coming from abroad.

From Monday, unvaccinated people will not be allowed in casino, bars, club, gyms, and stadiums, and sports facilities.
