Paphos police HQ

Police on Wednesday said they have suspended the operation of a Paphos-based bar which did not have the necessary licences and failed to abide by coronavirus measures.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, officers reported the owner of the establishment for operating without a licence from the deputy ministry of tourism and an alcohol permit and for violating certain Covid measures.

The violations were reported as part of the daily police checks for the implementation of coronavirus protocols in the district.

The case was submitted to court on Monday, while the hearing of the case was set for Friday.

Police also obtained a court order suspending the operation of the bar until the hearing.
