Aglandjia municipality said it will be collecting children’s coats throughout the week to make sure no pupil will be left without one this winter.

The municipality called on people to donate coats that no longer fit their children to be given to pupils who cannot afford one.

The coats may be taken to a special area set up for this purpose, next to Vienna bakery on 147 Kyrenias Avenue in Aglandjia. The collection will take place between Wednesday and Sunday this week, round the clock.

Aglandjia mayor Andreas Constantinou said they launched this initiative after learning during meetings with parents’ associations that many children, whose families are struggling financially, will not have a coat to wear during winter.
