Driver collides with police vehicle, tests four times over limit

A 24-year-old woman who crashed into the back of a police vehicle will be charged with drunk driving after she tested four times over the limit, police said on Friday.

The collision occurred at around 2.30 am on October 28 street in Limassol. Police said that under conditions which are being investigated, the driver had collided into the back of a police vehicle which was on patrol. There were no injuries.

The woman tested positive in an initial breathalyzer test and was taken to Limassol traffic police unit where she underwent a second test with a result of 80mg%, — nearly four times the legal limit of 22mg%.

The woman was released and is expected to be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at a later stage. Limassol traffic police are investigating.
