Limassol man arrested with stolen moped, knife

A 39-year-old man was arrested early Thursday in Limassol on suspicion of riding a riding a stolen moped and carrying a knife.

He was spotted by officers patrolling Limassol at around 4.10am. The suspect had stopped at a bakery which he entered wearing a hat and a hooded cardigan, police said.

Officers who approached the man found a switchblade with a 9cm blade in his possession.

Further investigation showed that his moped, which did not have registration plate numbers, was reported stolen on November 16 last year.
