Coronavirus: 22 fines after 2,934 checks

Police on Tuesday said they issued 22 fines as part of 2,934 checks for the implementation of coronavirus protocols in the last 24 hours in the government-controlled areas.

Most checks, 1,341, were conducted in the capital, where four people were fined, while one business and five individuals were booked in Larnaca after 468 checks.

In Limassol, four people were booked after 265 checks, and four in Paphos after 173 checks, while another four persons were fined in Famagusta following 310 inspections.

No violations were reported in Morphou during 256 checks in the area.

Traffic, port and marine police also carried out 102 and 19 checks respectively, without reporting any violations.

The checks were carried out between 6am on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
