High concentrations of dust

High concentrations of dust were recorded in the atmosphere in most parts of the country on Monday morning, according to the department of labour inspection.

The department urged the public, especially vulnerable groups – children, the elderly and the sick – to avoid going outdoors until the weather conditions improve.

Anything over a level of 50µg per cubic metre is considered a danger. The amount of dust measures in the air at 7am was:

Nicosia: 60.1µg

Limassol: 102.9µg

Larnaca: 59.2µg

Paralimni: 61.7µg

Paphos: 90.0µg

Ayia Marina Xyliatou: 61.4µg
