Coronavirus: Customer in shop fined €500 for having no SafePass

violations

Ten people and one business owner were reported by police for violations of Covid-19 measures during the 24 hours leading up to 6am on Thursday.

The fines came after 2,471 checks throughout the island.

A police spokesman told the Cyprus News Agency that in Nicosia, from 1,330 checks there were no reports while in Limassol after 146 checks, four citizens and one business owner were reported. In Larnaca the police conducted 455 checks and two people were fined, while in Famagusta 347 checks saw two people fined. The police made 59 checks in Paphos where two citizens were fined.

At a carpet store in Limassol, inspections identified a customer without a valid SafePass who was then fined €500.
