A 62-year-old man died on Wednesday after being crushed by his tractor, police said.

The victim, Fotis Stavrou, had been operating his tractor in a field in the Ayios Georgios Fasoulas area in the Limassol district.

According to the police report, a passerby made a report after spotting Stavrou around 6.30 in the evening.

Officers from the rural division, Kalo Chorio and Limassol police were sent to examine the scene.

On first glance it was determined that the tractor most probably overturned while on an incline, crushing Stavrou to death.

The scene was photographed and Stavrou’s body was transported to Limassol general hospital, where it will be kept until the scheduled post-mortem examinations.

This is the second incident of this kind reported this month, with the previous one claiming an 80-year-old victim, also in the Limassol district on March 8.
