The ‘presidential palace’ in the north was left without electricity because electricity bills had not been paid, the Kibris Postasi website said on Friday.

According to Kibris Postasi, the president of the workers’ union at the El Sen authority, Kublai Ozkirac, said the ‘presidential palace’ owes on bills and therefore they proceeded to cut off the supply.

A few days ago the union had announced the debts of various ‘state’ institutions and had warned that if they were not settled supply would be cut off.

Turkish-Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar has started legal proceedings against Ozkirac for statements concerning him.
