Sistema Cyprus is organising a collection of music instruments and is calling on members of the public who may have in their possession instruments they no longer use to be donated for the purposes of Sistema’s activities.

“As Sistema is preparing for the launch of its second orchestra, we are collecting music instruments for the growing needs of the programme that is set to welcome 50 additional children in September 2022…Help us offer to every child embarking on their musical journey their own music instrument,” it said.

Sistema is a social project established in 2018 offering education in music to children and youngsters in Cyprus, including those with immigration and refugee backgrounds and those deprived of opportunities in its effort to ensure respect, recognition, and social integration towards these groups.

Previously via similar activities, Sistema Cyprus managed to gather and hand out more than 50 music instruments.

Instruments needed include violins, violas, double-basses, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, French horns, percussion instruments and music stands.

Collection points include the Youth Information Centres of the Cypriot Youth Organisation in all districts and at Sistema Cyprus in Nicosia and Larnaca.
