Arrest after bank robbed in Kiti (updated)

A 33-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a bank robbery in Kiti earlier in the day.

According to police, at around 10.40am a person wearing a medical mask entered the bank branch and snatched money from the cash register before fleeing on foot.

They said witnesses described the man as holding an object in his hand. It was not yet determined whether it was a gun or some other weapon.

In the afternoon, a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case. He was being questioned by the police who said he will be taken to court for remand on Thursday.
