Man arrested for laughing gas

A 41-year-old man was arrested on Monday night in Ayia Napa for illegal possession and use of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police report, after a court warrant was issued, a search was carried out in a 41-year-old man’s property in Ayia Napa around 9.30pm on Monday.

During the search officers found 82 balloons, 21 used metal canisters, nine unused metal canisters and five boxes containing 10 metal canisters each. All items were taken as evidence.

The man was questioned and subsequently released to be summonsed before a court at a later stage.
