Two events remain in Faneromeni Arts Festival

Resuming after a short summer break during August, the Faneromeni Arts Festival organised by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, is back with its last two events. Coming up on September 8 is an open-air screening at the foundation’s amphitheatre of a heartwarming family film.

Coco is a 2017 Disney animation film filled with songs, magic and family stories. It won two Academy Awards for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures and Best Animated Feature Film as well as a BAFTA. Rightfully so, as every detail from animation to original music and plot are a wonder to witness.

The film follows young aspiring musician Miguel, who confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer. September 8’s free screening at the festival will take place in Greek and begins at 9pm.

Ending another edition of the cultural foundation’s successful annual festival is a unique performance which steps into the mesmerising world of circus. The Magic Circle by the Cypriot Yasemin group will take place on September 15 and it involves a number of renowned international artists who all stand out in their field. A large and impressive production will be presented featuring actors, dancers, musicians, jugglers, acrobats and clowns to highlight the art of the circus but also to give space to artistic creation. Perhaps an even more impressive factor is that a circus artist-acrobat from Colombia will join the group, ending Faneromeni Arts Festival with a little razzle-dazzle.
