Technopolis 20 celebrates 8th anniversary with live music

1 (2)

Two years short of a decade, the cultural venue Technopolis 20 of Paphos is celebrating its 8th anniversary this year. Since its initiation, it has hosted many a music night, art exhibition, market, book presentation, piano recital and poetry evening among other events. Staying true to its style by organising cultural events, the venue marks the anniversary with a concert by three beloved local musicians.

On September 30, Ermis Michail, Vasiliki Anastasiou and Andreas Panteli will take the floor to perform their favourite soul, jazz and pop songs. The ErmisVickyLee Jazz Trio set will also incorporate influences from blues, soul and gospel, along with a selection of Greek songs arranged in a jazz sound. The live music will begin around 8pm in a festive mood celebrating Technopolis 20.

And if the end of September seems like a while to wait, more performances will take place at the venue before then. On Thursday, Cuban Latin music will sound at Technopolis 20 as the Yemaya Son Quartet takes the floor. Their performance will be a lively and colourful set filled with music from the Latin-American country with influences from salsa, son and rumba.

Two more local musicians are set to perform this month at the Technopolis 20 garden. Musician Freedom Candlemaker will perform a stripped-down version of his set of old and new songs. He will be playing the piano and guitar, weaving a colourful journey for the soul with a very calm and intimate set, with the accompaniment of Nama Dama (Anastasia Demetriadou) on vocals, synthesizers and percussion.
