Daily News Briefing

cb december 21 22

In today’s episode, in an unexpected turn of events, the charges faced by the 74-year-old Briton accused of the murder of his terminally ill wife in Tremithousa last December remained unchanged despite hopes it would be mitigated to manslaughter, as his trial continued on Tuesday.

In other news, the four-year-old child hospitalised with strep-A is too ill to be transferred to Israel for the time being but the health ministry is on standby for any changes to the decision.

Elsewhere, Cyprus’ coastal Pissouri and Kalopanayiotis in the mountains made it onto the UN’s ‘Best Tourism Villages’ of 2022, alongside 30 others ranging from Austria to Vietnam.

All this and more in the Cyprus Beat briefing brought to you by the Cyprus Mail.
