Over one hundred potholes to be fixed in Paphos

One hundred and twenty potholes in Paphos are to be closed, mayor Phedonas Phedonos announced on Monday.

Moreover, the mayor stated work crews are continuing to coat newly constructed roads with a preventive sealant.

Due to finance restrictions, it is not possible to fix all the roads, the mayor said however the 120 potholes throughout the city will be fixed properly and promptly as “Paphos is changing,” the mayor said, quoting his tenure’s slogan.

The mayor also announced the ongoing regeneration of the heart of the Kato Paphos tourist area with the signing of a €5 million contract for upgrades to Theoskepastis Square and the surrounding streets.

The project includes pavement construction and replacement, maintenance and restoration of walls, and undergrounding of public utility networks, extending to an area of 17,500m².

The contract is expected to be completed within 12 months from the start date of the project, which is co-financed by EU Cohesion Policy funds.
