Exams start at lyceums and technical schools

Second-year lyceum students and first and second-year technical students put pen to paper for their quarterly examinations on Monday at 7.45am.

In a post on Twitter, EducationMinister Athena Michaelidou wished the students “good luck.”

“May these experiences strengthen them and give them resources for life,” the minister said in her post.

In April, parliament approved legislation for a reduced weighting of the second quarterly written exam for the 2022-2023 school year, from 40 per cent down to 20 per cent. A reduction of the examined material to 60 per cent of the taught material is also foreseen.

At the end of May, the minister is expected to present a bill to abolish the quarterly examination from the upcoming school year.
