A teenager stabbed his peer after online game argument in Limassol (Updated)

A teenager was hospitalised on Friday after he was stabbed in the abdomen and neck by a peer in an internet café in Limassol.

A 17-year-old boy pulled a knife and injured another minor, also 17, during an argument over an online game around 3pm on Friday.

The two appear to have had a personal dispute earlier as well, Limassol CID chief Lefteris Kyriakou told reporters at the scene.

The perpetrator, who fled the scene and was wanted by the police, later appeared at the police station with his parents and a lawyer and was arrested.

He was expected to be questioned, Kyriakou said.

As for the 17-year-old victim, he is being treated in a private clinic. The boy suffered two knife wounds to his abdomen and one to his neck. His condition is not life-threatening.

Police are investigating a case related to offences of causing grievous bodily harm and stabbing.
