Call to renew dog licences


THE LARNACA municipality is asking dog owners to renew their annual permits.

‘According to legislation, dog owners are required to obtain a permit when the dog is over six months old. The permit is valid for a year.’ a statement from the Larnaca municipality said.
Dog licences can be obtained from the sanitary service in Larnaca municipality, located in the corner of Nicholas Lanitis and Athinon avenue.

“Only people over the age of 16 are allowed to own a dog. The permit for a male, female or neutered dog is €20.50 and the permit for dangerous dogs such as, an American Pit Bull, a Pit Bull Terrier, a Dogo Argentino, a Fila Brazileiro or a Japanese Tossa is €170. Dogs within this category must be neutered by law. Measures will be taken against those who do not abide by the legislation,” the statement said.
