Water cuts in some areas of Nicosia this weekend

Nicosia residents may face a water shortage this weekend due to repair works on the Tersefanou pipeline.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the Water Development Department said the water cuts would affect all areas falling under the Nicosia Water Board between Saturday 8pm and Monday 1am.

This means Tseri, Latsia D, Yeri 1, Ergates and its industrial area, as well as the Manitari and board’s main reservoir.

Other affected areas include the municipalities of Lakatamia, Dali, Athienou, Lymbia; the community councils of Yeri, Potamia, Pano and Kato Defteras, Anargma, Ayia Anna, Pera Chorio and Nisou, Alambra, Ayia Varvara, Sias and Psevda.

The list also has the Koshi army camp.

The water development department apologised for any inconvenience the water cuts may cause and reassured they would exert every effort to keep disruptions to a minimum.

“Residents in the aforementioned areas are requested to be particularly careful during this period,” it said.
