Nuland in Cyprus to convey continued US support for a fair and lasting settlement

Victoria Nuland is set to meet Cyprus officials to discuss bilateral and regional issues

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland is in Cyprus for meetings, the State Department has announced. She will convey the US support for a fair and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem.

According to a press release, Nuland, who travelled to Nicosia on Tuesday, will be meeting with Republic of Cyprus officials to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

She will meet with the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades, the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci and UN Special Advisor Espen Barth Eide “to convey continued U.S. support for a fair and lasting settlement of the Cyprus problem through the process facilitated by the UN Secretary-General’s Good Offices Mission”.
