Drunk driver jailed for 20 days

The Larnaca-Famagusta district court sentenced a 53-year-old to 20 days imprisonment on Friday after he was found guilty in a case of driving five times over the limit.

In addition to imprisonment, the court suspended his driving licence for three months and added five penalty points.

The incident occurred at around 11.15pm on April 9, 2017 when he was checked by police for alcohol consumption as he was driving on the Protaras-Cavo Greco road in Paralimni.

The final blood test showed 121 mg instead of the permitted 22mg.
