Former president’s health continues to show signs of improvement

Former president Demetris Christofias

The condition of the former president Demetris Christofias continued to show signs of improvement on Saturday, but he still required respiratory support.

Christofias, 72, was transferred to the Nicosia general hospital’s ICU on Monday with acute respiratory problems. He has been placed on a ventilator.

The former president had been admitted to the hospital’s transplant unit last Saturday but it was decided to move him to the ICU as his condition worsened.
