Woman attempted to smuggle cocaine in coffee to man in custody

A woman attempted to smuggle 32g of cocaine to a 36-year-old man being held in custody during his court appearance in Paphos on Tuesday, police said.

According to authorities, the woman, unknown to authorities, went to the court and ordered a frappe for the man, who is being held in the central prison and went to Paphos on Tuesday to be sentenced for a case involving familial violence.

The woman ordered the coffee from the court canteen and asked that it would be delivered to the man.

During an examination of the coffee, police found four packets containing a total of 52g of cocaine.

Police are searching for the woman.

In the meantime, the man was sentenced to five months jail.
