From pandemic success in the beginning to complete disaster

Lockdown ÐÁÍÄÇÌÉÁ Covid 19 – ËÅÕÊÙÓÉÁ ÊÏÓÌÏÓ

I’m a regular visitor to your country, and I believe I understand the mentality of the local population.

I’m a regular swimmer down at the beach of Ayios Tychonas in Limassol. Over the last two days, council workers (I assume) have been pruning trees and tending the local vegetation. There are about six to eight at any one time there during the morning (whilst I’m there).

What message does it send to the public and others when council workers are standing around chatting with no masks on no social distancing.
I’ve been dumbfounded by the lack of public adherence to the basic safety measures of using masks, social distancing and practicing hand hygiene.

Will this country’s population ever change and become less arrogant and ignorant of what is good for them. I doubt it, it hasn’t changed in the last 40 years since I’ve been visiting.

From pandemic success in the beginning to complete disaster; what a sad legacy for a small island.
