How to tell if your dog has arthritis

Every pet deserves a loving and respectful home: please only consider acquiring a pet if you will be able to take care of its long-term needs. Also, consider choosing your animal companion from a shelter, where there are so many wonderful furry friends who need a forever home.

In this video, veterinarian Dr. Uri Burstyn, discusses arthritis in dogs – a degeneration of cartilage in joints, usually associated with age-related decline (and it occurs in humans, too).

The result is stiffness, inflammation and pain, making a pooch’s mobility a significant challenge – and larger-breed dogs, such as golden retrievers – are particularly vulnerable.
