Famagusta police are investigating after three mopeds with altered licence plate numbers were found in the possession of a 20-year-old man.

The suspect was driving his motorcycle without a safety helmet on Monday afternoon in Sotira when officers signalled him to stop.

According to the police, the biker ignored the signal and continued driving recklessly and dangerously.

He was identified later in the day and charged in writing for the traffic offences.

During a search of his house and other premises owned by the young man, officers found three mopeds with altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) which they confiscated as evidence.
