Treasure Hunt: Clean up the Capital

If it is a different type of weekend activity you are after this event in Nicosia this Sunday is for you. A day dedicated to cleaning and picking up rubbish in the old town will turn the activity into a group game. The European Youth Parliament (EYP) Cyprus is organising its first Treasure Hunt: Clean up the Capital! under the theme Emerging from the Past, Refuelling the Future.

“The event aims to bring people closer to the historical and cultural sites of the capital, within the old city of Nicosia,” say the organisers, “while also raising awareness and working towards a more sustainable and cleaner environment. In the form of a competitive treasure-hunt game, people of all ages can gather in teams with their friends and families in order to discover and cherish the mysteries behind the streets and sights of our capital, in the most entertaining way!”

From 9am to 1pm this Sunday, groups of four to eight people can head downtown and participate in the event. Team members must wear the same colour T-shirt (other than black and white) and register for the event via the form on Facebook (Treasure Hunt: Clean up the Capital). All ages can join in but any participants aged under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Successful registrations will receive an email with more details and the exact location for the day.
