Police arrest woman at Larnaca airport, after finding 9kg of cannabis in her bags

Police arrested a 24-year-old woman arriving at Larnaca airport around 9kg of cannabis in her suitcases, an announcement said on Saturday.

The woman arrived on Friday night, and during checks at the airport, police found eight plastic bags, which contained 8.957kg of cannabis.

She was stopped during routine checks being conducted by drug squad Ykan and the customs agents.

Police arrested the woman and took her into custody, and she is expected to appear in court for a further remand
