Man arrested in possession of explosives

Police in Limassol on Thursday night arrested a 23-year-old man for possession of various pyrotechnic paraphernalia.

The man was found to have had two flares, four large nautical flares, and a firecracker inside a black bag in his car during a check carried out by police.

In addition, in a subsequent search of his house, a further 17 flares were also found.

The man was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of explosives, while the three passengers who were in his car at the time were all released.
