Prominent Larnaca businessman dies (Updated)

Prominent Larnaca businessman Demetris Lefkaritis has died at the age of 67 it was announced on Saturday.

Lefkaritis was the executive director of Petrolina Holdings.

Reports suggested his death was unexpected and a post-mortem will be carried out to confirm the exact cause.

Lefkaritis was on the board of Lefkaritis Bros since 1979, as the company runs Petrolina petrol station.

He was married with three daughters.

The chamber of commerce issued a short statement expressing its sadness “for the unexpected loss of [Demetris] Lefkaritis, who was also the vice president of the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce.”

It described him as a man active in the Cypriot business world, and expressed its condolences to his loved ones.

House president Annita Demetriou who originally hails from Larnaca said Lefkaritis has left an impact on the city and its community. She in turn shared her condolences and “deep grief” over his death.
